Sorry!

Oh goodness, I really had no idea how long it had been since I last posted!

So much has changed, and we have been really busy, obviously. :-)

Here's us in a nutshell:
1. Washington for a summer visit & celebration for Uncle Josh' graduation from the apprenticeship program.
2. Calista in to 4th grade.
3. Grandma moves back to WA.
4. Mama quits Hali'i Kai to be stay at home Mom and help Terry with the business.
5. Uncle Josh comes to visit; Brandon & Mindy get married.

We've had lots going on, and I will post new pics. I haven't even really had time to take much pictures, so we'll see what I can scrounge up between my brothers camera and what I have on mine.

It's my Birthday on Monday...can't believe it is here already. :-)

Atlantis Submarine / Great Waikoloa Food & Wine Festival / Marriott - Part 2

So, then we headed down to the Marriott for a Saturday/Sunday night stay. The Great Waikoloa Food, Wine, & Music Festival was happening Saturday night, so Mom and Dad got to get away for a date. The food was AMAZING, the music was GREAT, and the wine - well, since I didn't have a sip, I couldn't tell you. ;-P

Michael Paulo, as I've been told by Dad, did his very first recording on Dad's first Summer in Malibu album. He and Pauline Wilson performed, and I loved it!!

We got two rooms, so Grandma was in her glory with taking the girls to the pool, Queen's Marketplace for a quick dinner, than back to the room for all the TV they could digest.

Mom and Dad, out and about. It was nice to see people I had not seen in a while, and even got to catch up with a school buddy I hadn't seen in 8 years!!

Note Calista's absence from this bit of photos - she had one of her friends from Minnesota visiting, so she was pretty much MIA most of the time, too cool for the whole family. We met this little girl, Julia, a year ago. Her widowed Mom owns 2 condos at the property I manage, and we have become close friends.

Atlantis Submarine / Great Waikoloa Food & Wine Festival / Marriott - Part 1

What a wonderful, relaxing weekend!! We officially celebrated Kawena's birthday the weekend after, with a "staycation". These types of "home" vacations are becoming a lot more common with the prices of gas and airfare on the rise.

The trip began with an excursion out to Atlantis Submarine in Kona. We don't usually experience a lot of the "touristy" things on the Island since we live here, but decided we will start doing so, to expose our children to the land and the wonders of our Island.

Father's Day 2008

My posting is a bit out of order - June 15 was Father's Day and June 18 was Kawena's birthday, but that's beside the point. Here's an awesome picture of the two awesome Daddy's we celebrated Sunday with (we missed you Daniel!!). Kawena got the jist of the day, and even offered Uncle Kale and Uncle Noah a joyous "Happy Fathers Day!!!", in which she was quickly informed - "not for another (more than few) years, honey." ;-)

Terry had to work all day (one of his employees was out after having a new baby - oh man, that's a whole 'nother post), so we celebrated the evening with plate lunches at Tex. They were all sold out of Malasadas, so we went for round 2 at Blanes. We all got a kick out of it, and Kawena seriously thought we were eating again. Cali was ready for ice cream, and "nothing else, Mom", until she saw my slushie float. "Oh, I should have gotten that one, Mom." Mmmm hmmm. So what den?

Kawena - another wonderful year!

We celebrated Kawena's 4th birthday on a Wednesday this year!! It was our first year actually baking the Birthday cake, (yes, I don't bake - and if you know me, this does not come as a surprise) but the girls had a wonderful time. We substituted the water and part of the oil with coconut milk, for a super yummy chocolate/coconut cake - I felt like a regular Martha Stewart. Of course, despite all that the cake was still a bit dry, so I convert back to leaving the "Betty Crockerness" to my lovely sister (ask her for a blondie, and don't leave her alone until you get one - oh, and Rum Cake for me, two please). ;-)

The girls decorated the cake, and in all it's pink splendor, it was eaten up quickly. Here are some pics -

I love Birthday's, aside from the fact that this little girl has yet to have a proper Birthday Bash. I better get planning for next year, huh? ;-0

Ok, so it's been way too long...

...since I last posted. There has been so much that has gone on, I don't even know where to begin!! So, I suppose I should just start!!

Calista, Kawena, and Terry began training with Universal Kempo back in April (?). Terry began by taking beginning lessons with Cali's class, and slowly began helping the instructor with Kawena's peewee class. He is now officially referred to as "Instructor Campbell". The kids love him. We have really grown to be a part of this wonderful community, and we look forward to many years of training. I have contemplated training as well, but push ups aren't my cup of tea, and they do 100's of them.

Good job honey!! It's all about having fun, and learning self defense coupled with respect.

The tournament was actually scheduled from 9-2, and it actually didn't get over until 5pm. Only in Hawaii!! Next time there is a tournament, I will be better prepared - which should be in early November. We can't wait!!! :)
