Cali's Haircut

Cali just got her first major haircut in almost 9 years! She loves it - says she feels like a whole new person. I am still getting used to it; it's a little shorter than I would have liked, but overall - it's great!

Cali's Field Trip

Calista had a field trip out to the West Hawaii Explorations Academy (www.whea.net) and I had the privilege of being a chaperone. I had a group of 4 girls, and we explored many different stations at this outdoors school, with emphasis on the environment and outdoor studies. It was amazing; the charisma of the student tour guides, their knowledge, and the overall "feel". If it wasn't so far away, I would consider this for high school!

What a nice day. I came super organized, and Ms. Millburg was so glad for that. Cooler full of iced water, trash bags, sunscreen, and towels to the rescue! If only I was that prepared on a daily basis...

Anyhow, the next post will be the haircut I took her to get after the excursion.

New Hair Cut Part 2

Curly this morning....

Straight tonight! I love my new cut - and promise I'll stop posting pics of myself. :)

Hair cut...or should I say hair chopped?

I got my hair cut!!! All the way up to my shoulders...I feel like a weight has been lifted. Hopefully this helps with the migraines I have been experiencing. I love it!

It was the cutest thing ever! She sparred with another little girl her age, and they had all the parents in stitches! They started off nice and sweet, and by the last round - they wouldn't even stop when the sensei blew the whistle. :) It was too cute!!!

I had a really nice time watching them for the whole 2 hours last night. It made for such a rush when we finally got home, and a really late dinner, but it was well worth it!! Tournament is in June...for anyone that is interested.

The girls outside in the yard today. Cali was helping dig up rocks, and Kawena was occupying herself on the playground. These pictures were taken with my iphone. Pretty cool, huh?

Terry built up the foundation of the rock wall, and I put the last foot and a half on the top. The plants that will form the hedge are mock orange; should grow in, in about 3 years. We also planted 8 trees:

• Tangerine
• 2 types of Oranges
• Kumquat
• Lime
• Mulberry
• Avocado
• Fig
  
  Terry looked up a non engine mower today, as another contribution to help save the environment. We started our compost, and Terry is building the enclosure with scrap wood left over from some of the demo on the house.
  The girls are having the time of their lives on the new front yard park - which although is a lot of material, will save lots of gas from driving back and forth in to town for park outings. And with gas at $4.10 a gallon, this thing will pay for itself in no time! :)
