Blogging mishaps, dog attacks, and Whale tails.

Hey You!

I am so sorry for the false updates earlier - I did a mobile blog, which as you may or may not know, is done via text messaging.  For some reason, that function freaked out and separated my text into 15 different posts which, if you are subscribed to my blog, e-mailed you for every new post.  So that being said, if you had a ton of messages in your inbox because of that little mishap - I'm sorry!  ;-9

Anyways, here's what I mobile blogged-

Eeeek!  Lots to digest this past week - where do I begin?

Noah and Scooch were attacked by our neighbors hunting dogs on Wednesday afternoon.  He was walking back home from Cody's (our other neighbor) with Scooch, when the neighbor let his 3 dogs out for a run (which he does consistently but it has never been a problem).  They caught sight of Scooch and went gunning for him.  Noah scooped him off the ground, somewhat out of reach until one of the dogs got up on the rock wall and jumped from there to attack.  He got Noahs hand, at which point Noah dropped Scooch and the 3 dogs pinned the puppy down and started biting his neck.  :( Terry ran out to help the neighbor beat the dogs off, chasing after the one so set on getting Scooch that he ended up going all the way in to the studio.

Noah and I rushed out to the clinic to get his wounds cleaned out, get a T-dap shot, and a prescription for antibiotics.  We waited in the waiting room for almost an hour, and when I checked as to why it was taking so long, the receptionist told me it's because I scheduled the appointment last minute.  I told her, yeah - I called you right after the dog bit my brother.  Did you expect that I would forecast and call the day before?  :-9 Silly.  Anyways, Noahs great, Scooch is fine, he's just recovering and milking it for all it's worth.

Happy we got all that done in time to be seated and ready for Bible Study! :)

I've been dreaming a lot lately, really intense dreams, which have made my nights a bit sleepless - just wondering what that's about and waiting for it to pass.

Just found out yesterday that one of my elementary school buddies is battling breast cancer.  Aren't we too young for that stuff?  :(  My thoughts and prayers have been with her and her little family, she has a brand new little baby girl (7 weeks old?) and started her treatments 1 week after the baby was born.  What God brings us TO, he will bring us THROUGH.

We are driving down the hill for some beach time at 69's - watching whales breach and spout as we drive the coast.  Happiness...

So that blog was at about 10:30 this morning - on our way to the beach, which was INCREDIBLE.  There was no vog today, which meant beautiful unobstructed views.  We met a bunch of friends there (some planned, some not), and played in the sand while watching various pods of whales from the shore.

The day winds down...

Rushed everyone back up the hill so I could get to Zumba, and then a much needed coffee break with a great friend.  Just the kind of day I needed with all that's been going on...

Tomorrow we will be in Hilo for Rugby - the season is winding down, and we are going to miss it!

 Cali (with a little help from Daddy) cooked us Breakfast for Dinner the other night, and it was scrumptious!  She made pancakes, portugese sausage, eggs, and rice.  Daddy made hash browns to go with it too!

Is it possible to have eaten too much Kalua Pig and smoked pork?  I never thought so before, but after this weekend I have changed my mind.  Aunty Alice and Uncle Steve provided lots of ono grinds at their Luau, and made my girls realize that smoked pork really is the best food on the planet...besides Saimin (of course).  :-9  Love my local girls!

Guests of Honor, and their 'ohana (missing RuthAnne and Stacy).  Uncle Steve and Aunty Alice have been a part of my life for over 20 years, and I love them like family!

Walt & Lorraine, who celebrate 60 years of wedded bliss this year!!!  Way to go!!  :)  Such a sweet, sweet, couple.

And on to the concert, which was a SMASHING success!!!  It was SO awesome - to be at the Four Seasons (I had never set foot on the property before), and to take in the beauty of the resort.  The outdoor amphitheater is set in somewhat of a "bowl" which was great protection from the wind blowing strong that night.  The sitting areas were much like a theater, where the levels made viewing  great from pretty much anywhere.  The chamber orchestra (strings only) started with Bach's "Air" from Orchestral Suite No. 3, BMV1068, which was fitting - the whole experience of the beauty in the surroundings and the beauty in the music made me take a deep breath, close my eyes, listen, and hear.  They went on to perform Tchaikovsky and Mozart before bringing KOHALA to the stage.  And oh, what an amazing experience that was!  KOHALA on its' own is such a pleasure to listen to, but with the addition of the orchestra in the background it became nothing short of breathtaking.  I would like to say it took the experience from 2D to 4D; added so much depth and feeling to the songs we already know and love.

The girls are back to school today - can't believe Spring Break has come and gone already.  Glad to get them back in to routine, and felt comfortable being in the hustle and bustle of the morning - getting ready for school, packing lunches, etc.  Hope you are having a wonderful Monday!

Just a quick mobile blog on our drive to the Four Seasons for Dad's concert.

It was an absolutely glorious day in Kona with friends and family, celebrating Aunty Alice & Uncle Steve's 50th wedding anniversary. Ken & Marilyn Curtis came from Kauai, and Walt & Lorraine (?) from the Pacific Northwest (they have come to the Islands for many years and some may know them as the dear couple that shuttle people between the airport and Pililani Convention grounds). Lots of great food, friendship, and fun!

We are now headed down the hill to the Four Seasons, for a concert under the stars featuring Kohala and the Orchestra of the Hawaiian Islands. More info @ http://www.americanmusicfestivals.com/ . I am very excited as this will be the first time I will enjoy an orchestra LIVE, and am pleased to expose my girls to this as well. Dad got us all tickets (Kale & Noah too), so we are in for a wonderful treat! Thanks so much Dad! :)

Luck of the Irish!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  I didn't have green on this morning, so my girls had great delight realizing they just HAD to pinch me!  :-D  The things I do for love...

Got the corned beef and cabbage going, having an early Dinner to clean up in time for Bible Study.  Love the study this week on our relationship with the world...so much still to meditate on.

In closing, I have to share the transcript from an interview Calista had with Kawena back in February -

Ohana Day, Sleepover, Garage Sale, Birthday Party, Prom, and Studio Time

We've had quite a busy start to Spring Break! 

Friday started with 'Ohana Day at Waimea Country School, which was a blast - the kids loved having Coach Terry there to watch their presentations, and we had so much fun playing tether ball after the picnic lunch.

Bela (Calista's friend from Rugby) slept over that night - I got ready for the Garage Sale I was having the next morning.  On Saturday I handed the Garage Sale torch to Terry and loaded Calista and Kawena + 2 of Cali's friends up and headed to Yumi's (Kawena's classmate) 6th birthday party, where Kawena proclaims it as "THE BEST birthday party ever", which how will I ever live up to 2 bouncy houses, a face painting/balloon twisting/magician clown, candy filled pinata, and cupcakes?!  Anyways, they had so much fun and got quite sugared up.

Noah got ready for Prom and as the jitters set in, we realized the next person we will be sending to Prom is Calista, and I quickly moved on from that thought...

I hand made Amber's bouquet - picked the flowers from Watanabe and hoped somehow my creativity would 'blossom' and that the flowers would form my vision.  And they did!  Some bling and silver ribbon - and we are done.  Thanks, Kale for beginning my portfolio - and for crafting Noah's matching boutonniere.

Today we spent recuperating before doing some much needed grocery shopping and having such a fun recording session out at Papa's!  The girls did GREAT, and I can't wait for you to hear it!  :-D
